Cost Accountant 

SIGA Technologies, Inc (www.siga.com) is seeking a Cost Accountant to join the fiscal team at our Research & Development location in Corvallis, Oregon. The successful candidate will assist in supplying financial data and cost accounting support from SIGA as well as from major subcontractors to the control account managers and project management team.  This position will report directly to SIGA's Accounting Specialist. 

Principal job duties will include: 

• Monitoring and tracking funds from federal grants and contracts
• Maintaining costs for project files
• Developing budget tracking sheets; working with managers and reporting teams to update projections
• Reconciling costs with expenditure forecasts
• Providing project managers with status reports
• Contributing data to monthly and quarterly invoices
• Processing needed financial reports and reimbursement requests
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and assisting with general audits as needed
• Inputting data into the Earned Value Management (EVM) cost system 

Qualifications include: 

• B.A./B.S. degree in Accounting
• In-depth experience and understanding of a wide range of financial disciplines including financial accounting, government contract accounting, budgets, financial systems, and internal controls
• Previous experience using QuickBooks and well versed in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Deltek Cobra is a plus
• Candidates who have experience with federal grant administration policies and government contract accounting are strongly preferred
